ILLINOIS A new law changes how guns must be stored in Illinois The safe gun storage Act, also known as senate bill 8, tightens requirements for how firearms are kept-especially in home with Children. Under this law, gun owners are prohibited from storing in an unsecured way if they know a gun could be accessed by a minor, a person at risk of harming them selves or others, or someone who is legally prohibited from having a firearm.
